NEW ENGLAND: Anglicans elect Dr. Brian Marsh to serve as suffragan bishop
ANGLICANS from New England and New York have elected The Reverend Dr. Brian Marsh to serve as the suffragan bishop of the Diocese of the Northeast in the Anglican Church in America (ACA) Traditional Anglican Communion subject to the required . His appointment now requires the consent and approval from the international College of Bishops of the Traditional Anglican Communion.
Dr. Marsh, 58years, married with two children, is a graduate of General Theological Seminary in New York and serves as the rector of Trinity Anglican Church, Cornish, N.H., and the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd in Charlestown, New Hampshire.
After his ordination in the ACA in 1998, he completed the doctoral program at Laud Hall, and published Saints and Buccaneers , a history of the Continuing Church movement in the USA. He is a member of the Standing Committee, Chairman of the Board of Examining Chaplains, and Assistant Dean of Logos House, the Diocesan seminary program.
Fr Marsh is currently Director of Drama at the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts High School in Massachusetts. He is the founder of the Hampshire Shakespeare Company and an experienced actor and producer, with an emphasis on the classical Shakespeare repertory, and a published playwright.
A tentative date (9 th December) has been set for his consecration to the episcopate expected to be held at St. James' Church, 84-07 Broadway, Elmhurst, Long Island. New York.(Please call (845) 753-6407 to confirm date).
In welcoming Dr. Marsh's appointment, the Ordinary of the Diocese, Bishop George Langberg said, "Dr. Marsh will be a valuable asset to the Church and of critical assistance to me as I assume the Presidency of the ACA House of Bishops".
