THE consecration of two Suffragan Bishops
THE consecration of two Suffragan Bishops for the Canadian Province of the Anglican Catholic Church of Canada took place Saturday, January 27, 2006, the feast of St. John Chrysostom and 'The Refounding of the Canadian Episcopate, 1979' at St. Basil's Roman Catholic Church in Ottawa.
The new bishops are Fr. Carl Reid (56 years), Dean and Rector of the Cathedral of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Ottawa since 1998, and Fr. Craig Botterill (48 years), Founding Rector of the Parish of St. Aidan, Halifax, Nova Scotia since 2002.
Chief Consecrator was the Primate of the Traditional Anglican Communion, The Most Reverend John Hepworth. Co-Consecrators were The Right Reverend Peter Wilkinson, OSG (The Ordinary, Anglican Catholic Church of Canada), The Right Reverend Robert Mercer CR, Retired. Assisting prelates were The Right Reverend George Langberg and The Right Reverend David Moyer SSC, Anglican Church in America.
